Experience pays off

When Mount Royal first opened its doors nearly 100 years ago — Sept. 8, 1911 — it welcomed 189 students. Today, some 12,000 credit students take a variety of programs and courses including bachelor’s degrees, applied degrees, university transfer courses, diplomas and certificates.

Experience has also taught Mount Royal the importance of preparing students well for life after graduation. That means practical and current information, as well as hands-on learning through work placements, practicum and co-op education.

three students talking in study area The newest building on our main campus, The Roderick Mah Centre for Continuous Learning, received gold certification for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). In 2007, Mount Royal also won the prestigious Calgary Award for Blue Skies Environmental Achievement for our commuting program and incentives.

Mount Royal also takes pride in responding to community needs. To increase Albertans’ access to university-level courses, Mount Royal now offers seven bachelor’s degrees.

MRC services	Everything you need. You're only a short walk from those 8 a.m. classes, the Library, computer labs, top-notch fitness facilities and on-campus special events — a campus built to serve students' needs.

Live-in staff	Trained professionals and student Resident Advisors live on-site, helping create a positive living and learning environment. They’re part of Mount Royal’s commitment to residence life — and your success.
Safety	With 24-hour, on-campus security, an escorted SAFEWALK program and key card/coded building entry, Mount Royal works hard to ensure the safety of residents.
